Description
This Bulletin describes and analyses a trial programme in Siwaa, a dry, scrub brush area of southern Mali, including its limits and possibilities. The conditions under which this trial programme in village-level management of the 'brousse' (common property resources) was applied are examined to determine its potential for replication. Similar programmes from Southern Mali are reviewed to allow comparisons and stimulate reflection.
