Publication policies
KIT Publishers is a private company with limited liability, and operating within the context of the Royal Tropical Institute, it has a remarkably broad scope. Published in English, French, Spanish and Dutch, our books address both a Dutch and an international readership. Each year about 35 new books are published, ranging from educational and informative to cultural and scientific, with topics covering all the main thematic and regional interests of the Royal Tropical Institute and more.
In order to make more books available for a non-western market KIT Publishers cooperates with other institutions and publishers in other parts of the world. The cooperation can range from writing opportunities for authors from the South, joint development of manuscripts, sharing production costs, production in the South, or combinations of these possibilities.
